Web Design Project Scope
Camp Henderson is a summer camp located in upstate NY with a full capacity of well over 1,500 campers. They are one of the most professional and active non-profit youth camps in the New York region.
A fully accredited camp by both New York State and the Boy Scouts of America Located near Onteonta and Cooperstown have provided quality camp experiences for many decades.
Catskill Web Site Design developed a plan for a website complete website design to help the camp with slumping attendance in an increasingly competitive market. The goals of the website were simple to provide an effective marketing tool, online resource for their campers, to attract new campers & scout units for summer camp and to increase the usage of the camp in the non-summer season. Additionally the site was to provide information to parents of campers to help answer the hundreds of questions that the staff would normally get via phone, in turn reducing workload.
After a complete analysis of the of the market it was decided that a site design would benefit the organization greatly.
Project Implementation
After the decision was made to go ahead with the redesign we started out with the first step we take with every website we design. We worked with Camp Henderson Planning Group to flesh out and craft an effective site mission and site goals.
The project offered the organization a design with interactivity for both the casual visitor looking for information with detailed & expanded camp information for current and future campers. The site became a complete online resource for potential and existing campers alike.
Even though the site contained hundreds of pieces of information it needed to remain simple to navigate. It also needed a design that was colorful and that would appeal to a wide range of age groups.

Post Launch Results & Performance
Visits - Today the site enjoys over 2,500 - 3,000 targeted unique visitors per month. With good visitor loyalty and excellent conversion rates (online contact & online application/brochure downloads) the site has become an effective marketing and information tool.
Organic Search - Camp Henderson enjoys a well optimized site which is achieving superior search ranking for many keyword phrases in its market.
